Environmental Justice Rule Making Comments Begin TODAY: Waterspirit on WBAI 99.5 FM

As shared on WBAI listener supported radio today (around minute 7:45AM), today begins the EJ rule making comment opportunities.

Please listen to the entire show and stay engaged with us on social! Here is the link to the article calling on Governor Murphy for a moratorium on all fossil fuel projects throughout so called New Jersey. Environmentalists demand Murphy put a moratorium on new fossil fuel projects.

Hearings for the rules for NJ's Environmental Justice Law will be held by the Department of Environmental Protection NJ. There are 5 opportunities to comment (4 in person public hearings in July and written comment until September 4th):

WE NEED MORE PUBLIC INPUT

  • July 28th virtually

  • Written comment period closes September 4th

“We need to actually say no to industry when it hurts communities.”

Here is a recent article covering the environmental justice law processes and procedures. The entire process benefits from the inclusion of more voices and we need all the help possible to get the word out about these opportunities. Please visit NJ Environmental Justice Alliance + Ironbound Community Corporation and South Ward Environmental Alliance for more information!

Big thank you to Bob Hennelly, Democracy at Work and WBAI for the amplification of the interconnected social justice campaigns of the day. (Reminder: WBAI is scheduled for maintenance next week)
