Lichens are all around us - on trees, rocks, and even buildings. But, what is a lichen? Understanding the life around us is important for understanding nature and how environments are changing.
If you have always taken a liking to lichens, join Waterspirit and Pat Heaney for this introduction to these fascinating symbiotic life forms. Use magnifiers to get a closer look into the amazing world of lichens. Marvel at their structure and function, study the variety of shapes and color, and try to identify some common genera. We'll bring samples to observe and if the weather allows, we will step outside to search for lichens here on the property. Bring a magnifying lens or loupe if you have one. We’ll have some to share.
Tickets are only $10 per person. Registration is required.
